I agree that it is possible to write a DLL which sends information to an LCD/VFD based on information sucked from ehmsas.exe (MSAS), as outlined in the SDK. We've actually done this already for a LCD and I've used FrontView to accomplish the same. Actually FrontView works pretty nicely for an "abstracted LCD API".
